Banffshire is named as Scotland’s Dolphin Coast so the hotel is a natural spot for dolphin watching as well as a haven for natural wildlife. National Geographic also named the area as one of the top 20 most beautiful coastlines in the world.
The restaurant is well worth the visit for locally sourced and freshly cooked food whilst enjoying the commanding views of the Moray Firth.
The hotel likes to champion local suppliers and their restaurant serves some of the freshest seafood around. From the sea to their kitchen, the local seafood can take as little as six hours.
The beef has been aged for 28 days and comes from a local supplier whilst their vegetables come from within a 20-mile radius. All food is cooked to order by their team of skilled chefs.
Winners of Cullen Skink World Championships
The Cullen Bay Hotel are the current winners of the recent traditional recipe for Cullen Skink in November 2015.
They are also the winners of the first ever Cullen Skink with a Twist World Championships for 2014.
Cullen Skink is a delicious fish based soup made with potatoes, onions, milk and/or cream. It originated from the local area in the late 1800s and has been a firm favourite of locals and tourists alike ever since.
The Cullen Bay Hotel have 14 rooms offering some spectacular views out to sea or to Bin Hill and the countryside beyond.
Recently refurbished, all of their rooms are ensuite and vary in size with each room having a character of its own.
