Cullen Christmas Lights Group

The function of the Lights Group is to raise funds in order to purchase Christmas lights, maintain them, and erect and dismantle them at Christmas time. Fund-raising goes on all year.

Christmas Lights Switch On 2017

Thursday 30th November in Cullen Square and Town Hall. There will be 14 sales tables in the hall and manned by local groups or charities from 6pm to 8pm approx.

Christmas music will be playing both inside and outside and visitors will get the chance to meet Santa and his helper will be handing out goodies to the children.

Teas / Coffees and mincemeat pies will be on sale in the Memorial Hall between 6pm and 8pm.

Cullen Brownies and Guides will be singing in the town hall after the light switch-on.

The Cullen Fire Engine will be in attendance giving young and old the opportunity to see the fire engine, meet the crew and learn more about fire safety.

The light switch-on will be at 7pm with children from Cullen Primary School and Nursery pushing the button.

The Christmas street lights feature four new lights at the top end of Seafield Street. Three of the new lights were designed by pupils at Cullen Primary School in a ‘Design a Christmas Light’ competition.

There will be a short firework display immediately after the Christmas Lights switch-on.

Following their successful introduction in 2016, Cullen’s famous 8 arched viaduct will be illuminated following the main Christmas lights switch on and fireworks.

The lights on the viaduct were very well received last year and we have added some more lights to the display this year.
