Weather and Tides

The Banffshire Coast enjoys its own special micro-climate. The influence of the warming North Atlantic Drift on the coastal waters, plus the shelter that the Grampian Mountains provide from the prevailing south westerly winds, have a mellowing effect on the local climate - resulting in it being milder and dryer - and one of the driest locations in the UK.
